This year we are standing two stallions and the winner of the mares rankings will have a choice of either.

Northern Territory a five year old thoroughbred 16.2 being produced by Sam Penn. competed successfully in BE four year old class last year and he is being aimed at the five year old classes 2014.

Carraig Donovan 16.1 imported late last year from Ireland where he was successfully jumping at 1.10m and 1.20m classes. Fantastic stamp to cross with thoroughbred mares.
Both stallions have fantastic temperaments, easy to handle and train with impeccable manners.

The Horsebox Spa
Established by Allie Macleod in November 2018, The Horsebox Spa is a mobile equine spa studio. This is a brand new service and an industry first.

Allie has been a passionate equestrian all her life, a horse owner for over 20 years and is BHS Stage 3 qualified. After 9 years at her home yard, a field with no mains water or electrics and having just endured the winter of 2017/2018, one of the longest and coldest in decades, the thought of another without the little luxury of hot wash facilities triggered the initial idea. Allie knew she wasn't alone and that the vast majority of yards don't have spa facilities. On social media too it was evident that other equestrians were experiencing the same with countless posts asking where they could take their horses for a hot shower and solarium.

Whilst some yards hire out their spa facilities, that requires you taking your horse to them. First there's the issue of transport - sourcing it and the cost if you don't have your own. Then there's the time spent travelling and waiting while your horse is bathed, dried, groomed and clipped. In winter especially when days are short, time is not a luxury many equestrians have. Now when you consider that every equine service from the vet, the farrier, the dentist to the physio goes direct to the horse... then why not the spa?

In March 2018 the need for this new equine service was evident enough for Allie to take the risk. She quit her job in the City and the concept of an equine spa evolved into a fully customised mobile studio, capable of operating 100% off grid without compromising the services of a mains powered facility. What's more, as an industry first The Horsebox Spa isn't bound by preconceptions of services giving Allie free rein to create a sensory spa experience around the traditional services you'd expect.

"I'm incredibly excited to bring the spa facilities typically offered by 5* yards directly to equestrians like myself, to both their home yards and events. As well as the many practical benefits of the spa, The Horsebox Spa promises to be a truly luxurious sensory soother." Allie

The Equine Rebalance Therapy Centre

The Equine Rebalance Therapy Centre is based at Wellington Riding (situated between Reading & Basingstoke). It has the latest Activo-Med water treadmill with incline option as well as a full range of FMBs Therapy Systems equipment.

Within the extensive facilities at Wellington Riding, the Equine Rebalance Therapy Centre has its own private yard of 7 stables offering short term holiday, rehab & fitness livery.

At the Equine Rebalance Therapy Centre we pride ourselves on our experience & expertise in providing the highest level of equine hydrotherapy:
•All staff trained by German vet & expert in hydrotherapy, Dr Matthias Baumann.
• New purpose built spacious barn with natural light.
• No nappies restricting the horse's movement
•No ramps, our water treadmill is sunk into the ground for ease of experience.
•There are no chemicals needed to keep water clean due to the efficiency of the 24/7 filtration system.
• Strong bio-security policy, horses legs disinfected post sessions.
•Fees affordable to build into regular training programme.

The water treadmill is used to improve core strength, muscle development (especially over topline) & optimise stride length. It provides a full body work out for your horse to enhance its fitness & performance working best when integrated into part of your horse's regular training & is suitable for all horses/ ponies whatever their abilities. The water treadmill is also a great rehabilitation tool, used for horses coming back from injury (including tendons/ligaments injuries, fractures & kissing spine) as it is a completely safe & controlled environment. The horse works at a controlled speed in water which provides a blend of resistance, buoyancy, reduced concussion & cold water therapy. We collaboratively work alongside your vet, therapists & insurance company to ensure the best rehabilitation plan for your horse. Each horse is treated as an individual & their treatment/exercise plan is tailor made accordingly. One of most important things is the horse enjoys the experience & happily accepts working on the water treadmill hence our first introductory session is only £15. The water treadmill gives horses a lot of confidence in their own ability to carry themselves, actively engage their core to balance & mentally stimulates them to work independently. Please call/text our Practice Manager, Tonya Willingham, on 07949 623402 for any further details.
